Mango Tango

Carter is a little less than two weeks away from officially turning four, but we had a birthday bash for her earlier today. It was a Horton Hears a Who themed extravaganza. I'll share all the fun soon, but right now I'm almost too pooped to post...almost but not quite! So, something short and sweet. I've purposefully avoided posting the official "belly bump" size the last couple of weeks because it was an onion and a sweet potato. The pictures were ugly and gross and I didn't like them, so it conveniently slipped my mind. But, we're back to fun fruits this week and apparently our little babe is about the size of a Mango...

In case that isn't illustration enough, here is the view from the outside (and that's one happy big sister)...

Coming up Thursday the BIG 20 week ultrasound, where we will hopefully be finding out if it is a brother or sister in there. We're going to have to let Carter down gently if it's a girl, she is DEAD set that we're having a "baby brother"!

Sucker

I'm a sucker for change. It cracks me up that I will be in love with my blog design for about 33.3 days and then I'm dying to switch things up! So, I just gave my blog and my design site Scoop little face lifts...
They are looking Mod and Cheerful, which I'm kinda' diggin'! If your blog needs a lift I'm in the mood, so feel free to check out my pricing and design options over at Scoop. Thanks for humoring my mutiple personality design disorder!

Next to them I'm lookin' pretty plain Jane...

So, I have a little bragging to do on two of my favorite people. These days my brother and sister are rocking it out when it comes to major life accomplishments.

We'll go in chronological order which means I also win "worst sister ever" award on this one because I can't believe I forgot to mention or congratulate in a public forum that my little brother is now ENGAGED (about 2 months ago)!! He has found a beautiful girl (inside and out) and they are getting married! He still seems way to young for these things until I really give it some thought and realize I had been married 3 years by the time I was his age! My mom has done a superb job of documenting the whole engagement and their L.O.V.E for each other on her blog, so for more pictures and the FULL story check it out. We couldn't be happier for you Clint and Jenny...

And now for my beautiful sister (just ignore the fact that I am no longer a peroxide blond)...

She and her sweet as pie BFF Cayce just opened their very own bridesmaid boutique in San Antonio, yeah they are pretty awesome!

It is called Bella Bridesmaid, and while I haven't seen it in person I here they hit one out of the park. You can check out the nationwide site here, and find them under locations-San Antonio. So, if you find yourself getting married and in the vicinity of San Antonio they are your go to gals...

I couldn't be prouder of my sister and brother. I've always been a little more boring in comparison. Considering that my biggest achievement this week is my homemade peach cobbler I'm definitely looking a little plain Jane. That's ok though...success for these two makes me one happy camper!

Monday Carter Edition #40~Hangin' with the Boy's

Today Monday Carter and I were busy getting ready for a couple of her daddies friends to come over for dinner. She is becoming quite the little helper and I really enjoy her company. On da' menu for the evening Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, rolls and homemade peach cobbler (with fresh peaches from a local roadside stand)...yes we are from the South! Carter was itching to help me roll out the crust, she loves baking...

I on the other hand was just itching to have a little cobbler, pregnancy cravings can be a powerful thing...

She had already warned us that, "when daddies friends came over she was going to be shy..." But, it didn't take long for her to warm up. A little chasing through the halls and tickling goes a long way with this kiddo'. After dinner she even managed to talk these three men (two of whom are now her friends) into a game of Candyland...

It was a perfect evening. Then Monday Carter crashed...

The End.

Friday Night Lights

Football is kicking off tonight in West Texas and that means my dad is gearing up for his first game of the new season. If you live in Texas you get it, this is a big deal. If you don't, well, we won't hold it against you!

Good luck on the season ahead dad, wish we could be there...Go Cougs!

Hooter Hider~Hot Sale!!

Hey girls (not boys) just thought I'd share a deal going on right now! Unfortunately I didn't know about these little gems when I had Carter, but am looking so forward to having one with our next baby. I just happened onto the Bebe Au Lait site and they are having a sale in honor of the Hooter Hiders fifth anniversary. For those who don't know (and as if the name doesn't say it all) these fancy little fabrics cover your hooters while your nursing so you don't have to worry about your booby popping out in public (I told you this wasn't for boys)! So, you have to pick a design from the Hooter Hider line (they have Bebe Au Lait as well) and it is buy one get one for $5!!! I thought this was great because I am a cheapskate and would never buy two, but how handy will that be? When one gets spit up on you have another handy! Or, if you are more generous than me you could buy one and give one as a gift (or both if you're not preggo) but, I'm selfish and am keeping them both for myself!! So, go HERE and read more about the sale. Mine just arrived and they are SO cool! It was tough but I went with these two...

I love you because...

I love you because you like to pretend that we really might win the lottery (it's at one of those ridiculous $250 million dollar amounts or something and the following note greeted me when I woke up this morning)...

But, what I really love is that I hit the jackpot the moment I met you.
