Rodeo Queens

I love getting to spend time alone with my girls.  There is something special about getting to focus on them with no distractions.   Friday afternoon we joined one of Carter's sweet school friends and headed to the Rodeo fairgrounds.  She was all smiles and excitement...

As I watched them run from ride to ride holding hands they seemed so carefree (that sounds cheesy I know...but it's true).  Seeing her with this giant smile and a buddy by her side made me so happy...

I even got talked into a couple of rides.  When was the last time you laughed uncontrollably?  I'd highly recommend it...

Sometimes life can get a little crowded and I'm always thankful for a good reminder to stop and smell the roses...

Or should I say stop and smell the rodeo...

Either way hanging out with a couple of Rodeo Queens and laughing til my stomach hurt was just what I needed...

Dear Carter, I had the best day with you today...

XOXO Mom

Jazzy Beast

A couple of weeks ago marked a day Emerson has been waiting patiently (or impatiently) for.  She spread her wings and joined Carter at the "big" gym for gymnastics.  Turning 3 meant she was finally old enough to take the plunge.  Before the "big" gym though there was Jazzy Beasts.  What a name right?  Well it worked out perfectly because her last day also marked the end of a session so she got to show off some of her skills.  We headed out to Wednesday class for the last time...

It really has been so fun to watch her grow and learn over the past months...

She is determined and focused...

She's also pretty darn strong if I do say so myself...

She has found something she loves to do and that is a fun thing for a Mama to watch happen...

I'm so proud of you sweet Emerson.  I know you have bigger and better things in your future but I have loved getting to be a part of this first step in your life...

Way to go my little superstar.

Full Plate

Lately I find my life most resembling a Thanksgiving dinner plate.  There you are with endless choices of delicious food in front of you and only a diameter of 12 inches to fill.  So you make decisions a little of this a little more of that and sometimes you can even squeeze something extra in if you are really careful.  But no matter how hard you work to find a spot for everything eventually your plate is full.  I'm there.

It's a good thing really because everything is delicious and I'm so happy to be able to have a "taste" of all this goodness but I couldn't fit one more thing in if I tried.  And as it has been in other seasons of my life this little place where I store my thoughts and memories has been slightly neglected.  Today I'm catching up though. I'm thinking about all the moments that have made me happy over the past few weeks.  I know one place our whole family is enjoying getting acquainted with is our backyard...

We've spent Friday evenings there...

And Sunday afternoons...

And even an impromptu middle of the week sun bathing session (where Kim and I were the happy recipients of beauty treatments) ...

It's like a whole new world of family togetherness...

I think I see many more days of sun and fun in our future...

Fun was also had when we threw our own little family super bowl party...

Complete with pizza and a couple of tiny cheerleaders...

Who eventually found the "best seats in the house" to watch the game in...go figure...

Lately I've been soaking up moments when I take a minute to just look at Emme...

I want to freeze a few of them in my mind while she is still so tiny.  Time is ticking away...

It seems to fly when I am busy and there has been a whole lot of being busy going on lately.  What I would normally deem "free time" has been replaced with things like hopping in a UHaul with my partner in crime...

And loading up a trailer full of goods...

We've been working really hard (along with a lot of awesome other people)...

On a project that I'm looking forward to sharing once it's finished.  For now I can say it's coming along quite nicely...

Hard work hasn't kept me from enjoying all the things that are a part of our "normal" lives like
 PTA performances...

Trips to the gym...

Birthdays of a soon to be brother-in-law...

Rainy day crafts...

Field trips with my favorite 7 year old...

And celebrating 100 days of school gone by...

We were also spreadin' the love around this week...

I love a good excuse to celebrate how much I LOVE the Valentine's in my life...

They got the Roxi hookup in the form of cute tshirts that were a hit at school...

And this little girl...

If she had any more personality it might be illegal...

The girls delivered love bugs to their classmates...

And Nate won me over with his romantic charm...

He did take me to see a sappy romantic movie and had more fun than he's letting on...

And if you need a little more love in your life check out this fun post over at Roxanne the Artist by my mom (whose getting skinnier everyday)...

Here's to love and life being full and all the good stuff in between.  XOXO
