And for that which we are about to receive...

May we be truly thankful.  I really do love Thanksgiving.  I think it may be the only genuine "no strings attached" holiday.  How refreshing to have a day where your only requirement is to enjoy delicious food and count your many blessings?  I'm in.

Over the next couple of days we will have family, food and fun.  And by tomorrow pumpkins and fall leaves will give way to pine trees and twinkling lights.  So today, because at the top of my "grateful for" list are the people I love I wanted to share the photos from our memorable trip to Silo Farm a few weeks ago.  It was a fun family outing and Jenny captured it perfectly (she always does).  So before we are overtaken with the Christmas spirit here's a few Pumpkins to wind up the fall festivities...

We are pretty Thankful around here.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Making the Rounds

Last week I hopped in the car with my sister (I like to do that)...

We headed up to our old stomping grounds at UMHB...

Kim was speaking at Chapel and did an awesome job.  It was fun and witty and she was a big hit (I'm not at all surprised)...

I haven't walked around campus since I graduated 10 years ago and I have to admit it was more fun than I expected (Kim and I with our dorm director from good ol' Burt Hall)...

Next up we made our way to South Belton Middle School.  Kim had been asked to speak to almost 800 junior high students...

Junior High Students can be a little crazy (I mean that in the nicest way) and so it came as no surprise that they were crazy about Kim...

She signed autographs and doled out high fives and I'm pretty sure she made their whole year...

It was a great day and a fun one to share with our parents.  My dad (who bleeds Temple Wildcat Blue) even made the trip to Belton to support Kim.  You're the best dad...

I'm thankful for family and for a long list of other things as we enjoy this weeks holiday festivities.  I'm also thankful I got to share lunch with this little Turkey the other day...

She always makes me laugh...

It's easy to find all the reasons I have to feel blessed and to be happy.  They're all around me...

I hope your Thanksgiving break is proving to be a fun one.  We're making plenty of time for Doctor's visits...

And trips to the bowling alley...

Happy Turkey Week!
