Easter Chicks

Our Easter weekend was a bit of a whirlwind! There was hardly a spare minute and while it was a bit crazy at times I love getting to be with my family.

Saturday was jam packed with activities, but Emme manage to squeeze in a moment to get cozy with Pops...

After soccer, lunch at our favorite burger joint and an extreme makeover on our front yard I was feeling just a little tired. But decided to channel the energizer bunny and just keep going and going and going. After all we had yet to dye our eggs...

Oh to be four. Not a care in the world and each activity more fun than the next...

Carter's excitement can be contagious, I'm so thankful it's easy to catch...

Our guests made the whole weekend fun and special...thanks for visiting y'all...

We enjoyed cooking out for the first time in our new home. Fajitas hit the spot and Emme delighted the crowd by sitting in her bumbo...

The next day we all headed to a family reunion in Austin. Before we hit the road I captured my own little chicks...

So nice to be close enough to head over for the afternoon and enjoy a get together like this one...

Carter enjoyed some time with her best buds and cousins...

These two Easter cuties were stirring up a little mischief...

Speaking of mischief, look what Easter Bunny left behind...

We headed out on a little tour of the farm, unfortunately Emerson missed the whole thing...

Carter was ready to explore...

You can only imagine the excitement that "real" Easter chicks brought...

Much to her delight they were then off to get there very own eggs...

They tiptoed past the chickens...

and headed for the coop...

Back she came with her very own egg...

Convinced that she would soon have her own little chick...

I didn't have the heart to tell her that's not exactly how it all works...

Easter this year was special. We had a new "Aunt" to share it with...

It was the first one that I had this little bundle to hold...

And also because we were able to spend the day as a family for the first time in two years...

Sometimes just being together is about as good as it gets.
