Singin' in the Rain

Day Two of Disney we woke up to rain.  It did dampen our spirits a bit, but we quickly decided to make the most of it.  Nate headed downstairs and scored us three fabulous ponchos to aid in staying dry and we made our way via boat to Epcot...

As we entered the park the rain picked up and Nate and I exchanged one of those "parent" glances (you know, the one that says what the heck are we doing and should we just high tail it back to the hotel??)  But we had one very excited little lady who didn't seem the least bit daunted by a little wet weather.  


So, we did what any good parents would do...bought a $25 sweatshirt for her (because every time we stepped inside the air conditioning mixed with wet weather made for a chilly mix) and we pushed on!  Lucky for us Epcot proved to be user friendly when it came to rain.  Most of the rides are indoors and we were easily able to make the most of things.  It also proved to be a great time to meet more peeps and get some autographs...

Probably the biggest disappointment of the morning was on my end.  There were these amazing gardens and special areas where they had created topiary characters out of shrubbery and flowers.  It was still really beautiful, but the rain meant less time to enjoy the scenery as you ran from ride to ride.  Here are a some of my favorites...

Everywhere you go at Disney there is so much eye candy it is really inspiring.


After spending most of the morning wet we were ready for a little break and headed to lunch in Japan.  Okay, so it wasn't really Japan but it sure did feel like it...

We dropped in at a hibachi style grill.  It was a lot of fun but truth be told I would advise saving your money and heading for Benihanna when you get back home...it wasn't that good!

We rode a few more rides and had exhausted our options at Epcot.  The obvious choice would have been to head back to the hotel, but we made the executive decision that our fun for the day wasn't over!  We hopped on a bus and headed over to Hollywood Studios.  We took in a Broadway-esque show with one of our favorite princesses...

We also rode the fabulous Toy Story Ride which was awesome...

Carter shocked us with her endurance and was such a trooper...

It struck me again what a perfect age she was for this trip.  Just old enough (and tall enough) to ride everything, motivated enough to walk (we never needed a stroller which was a huge plus), and still young enough for everything to be magical.  It was so perfect and we had the best time with her (wet weather and all)...

Lucky for us blue skies were ahead...more fun to come!
