I'm an Aunt.

Dear Kim,

Remember that one time you gave birth at your house and it was cuH-ra-ZY and I'm not gonna' lie it kinda' freaked me out annnnnnd it was literally the most amazing thing I've ever witnessed in my entire life and did I mention I'll admire you til' the day I die and will never forget how awesome you were...like unbelievable and awesome (did I say that already) and when the dictionary defines the word strong I think maybe they should just put a picture of you next to the word.  Good job buddy...you did it...

It's seriously one of the best things that has ever happened to me.  Not just me, all of us... 

We are kind of crazy about Michael Thomas...

And it seems like the world should just stop when babies are born but it doesn't :) So life goes on with trips to the rodeo...

Celebrations

January is full of celebrating!  I mean literally every other day someone around this family is having birthday or an anniversary.  It's cuh-RA-zy :) but great...really great.  And this year was special because Granny was celebrating a huge milestone of wisdom and beauty...she turned 80.  So we all converged in Austin for the weekend to celebrate one amazing woman...

We spent time catching up and hanging out and it was just lovely...

Granny is one of the most beautiful women I know.  She is one of those people that in my memories and in my heart has always been there...she is a constant in my life.  She has had many adventures and tells the most entertaining stories. I love her so much...

Other things we've been celebrating lately....

Emerson's first ballet class!

Which inspired Carter to make a comeback...yay!

She's also trying her hand at basketball for the first time...

AND we finally finished celebrating Emme's birthday! :)  Last but not least donuts with her friends at school and a little chapel recognition...

With January almost over Kim and I brought up the birthday train caboose and celebrated our 31st and 33rd birthday's respectively.  Kim turned in a stellar performance as best friend and sister (despite her due any day status) and had a lovely surprise (sort of :) brunch with some of our sweet friends...

She did not give me a nephew for my birthday so I'm still patiently waiting to become an Aunt. :)

And one of my new favorite weekly occurrences is a quick little date she and I manage to squeeze in Monday afternoons while Emme is at dance...

Life is busy and full and I'm grateful for moments like this one where we opt for the most casual version of a Superbowl party known to man (aka Whataburger, sweats and just the four of us:)...

And now I'm off to bed in case my nephew decides to make his debut tonight...I need to grab a little shut eye! :)
